Current weather conditions: Hot as fuck
Outlook for the next few days: Hotter than fuck
Friday: Car has "issues" starting.
Saturday morning: Marcy goes to garage sales to search for a couch for the new home...car acts super funny after one of the stops. Marcy proceeds to Lawrence Battery where the fiance had told her to go to see if it was an alternator or battery issue. The battery dies on site. Battery's replaced. Cheap and fast. Marcy's happy.
Saturday afternoon: Marcy does her first loads of laundry at the new place. After one laundry cycle, the dryer dies. Hot and sweaty, Marcy decides to go stand in front of the window air conditioner to cool off and take a breather from vigourously cleaning the filfth left by previous tenants. Marcy reaches the window box destination. Air conditioner's dead on arrival.
Have you noticed an obscene pattern? I kill electrical machinery.
It's hot and sticky...I probably reek but the fiance's nice enough not to comment. I can't motivate myself to shower. Oh well. Other than overbearing heat...life's not too shabby.
But damn, have I mentioned the sweltering heat is a few degrees warmer than Hell? And, it ain't gettin' any better anytime soon, folks.
The only relief - air conditioning. If yours is working properly, thank your lucky stars and say "hot damn!" Enjoy the airgasm as you walk in from outside and feel the cool, tingly tides overwhelm your body. What did the pioneers ever do? Those peeps must have been some tough cookies. Or maybe, we're just incredibly spoiled and could survive without air conditioning had we been raised to...but who the heck would want to. Thank you, Mr. Carrier.

I SO feel your pain. 100 degrees outside and my DAMN AC conks out AGAIN.
Remember last summer when it was 100 degrees? Yeah- it conked out then too.
So we went to the movies. guess what? ac conked out there too.
I will be so glad to get back to work tomorrow.

Oh, that's just s-a-d! To quote my least favorite artist: isn't it ironic, dontcha think?
Those AC's have such perfect timing...

Oh my God - journal entry time! I'm glad someone finally reminded me that it was hot outside. Thats weird how every year, around this time it get way hot in Kansas.
Have you tried powdering your nether regions with Goldbond?

Here's some motivation to shower: cool to lukewarm water. Feels *goooooooood* in this heat.
AC is still working so far, but then I've just got it set to 'tolerable' anyway (79 during the day). Keeps it about 80, and we're in the upstairs of an old house. I don't even want to run this baby out of freon.
Oh, and you want airgasms? Go to any big store (like Best Buy) with double automatic doors and electrical equipment they have to keep cool. Bet it's a deep freeze in there.

I really, really want to gloat about our kickass air conditioning and its relative reliability and how I'm all cool and shit with a little sweater shrug on because my shoulders were a bit chilly, but I don't want the Mighty Hand of Irony to slap my ass with *another* power outage.
Seriously. We had two this weekend.

Kyle- I really hope your AC goes out. And that you stub your toe.

Kyle, you make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Thanks...the WARM fuzzies aren't helping my situation at all. Gee, thanks for burstin' my bubble. I didn't think people could figure it out for themselves that it's hot out. Seriously.
As far as nether regions. Um...I don't think that's exactly appropriate.
Jocelyn! I think I may have to follow through on your suggestions...that sounds like the ultimate airgasm. ;)
Misty - good call. Karma's a bitch. But, enjoy the chill.

If anyone would like to actually go out in the heat this evening, I suggest Memorial Stadium from 8-11pm.
The Colts drum and bugle corps from Dubuque is in town on the way to the DCI show tomorrow night in Pittsburg. Good stuff.

This kind of stuff makes me glad that I moved down to nice, cool, Florida. It's only 90 down here. It's practically air conditioned everywhere compared to Kansas' 100+ degrees. Thank goodness for the ocean. I hope you all get your necessary airgasms.

Florida would be nice...but, then there's the hurricane factor. That would make me antsy. Of course, we always have our tornadoes. It's always something...
Oooh...an ocean breeze sounds refreshing. Next week, I'll be feeling one (on my honeymoon).

Haha. Chris...I hear ya. I was checkin' out Vancouver temps earlier today. That's where we're headed on Sunday...then, to Vancouver Island.
What takes you up there?

Marcy: "What takes you up there?"
I've never been there, but I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest a few years ago on a vacation to Seattle and Oregon. Recently, I heard a Canadian actor explain Canada's cities to a talk-show host. He said whereas Toronto is like New York, Vancouver is like Amsterdam. Well, we'll see about that. We're heading to Vancouver on Wednesday, to Whistler on Friday, and then to Victoria on Vancouver Island on Sunday. Good times will be had by all (I hope).
Brrr, I'm shivering just thinking about it...

Sounds great! I've never been to that area - but, the consensus among those I've talked to all agree - it's beautiful. I'm anxious to find out for myself. This will be my first time leaving US dirt. Ever.
Enjoy!
