Description
Like KU basketball, love for Free State is nearly universal in Lawrence. The in-house brews are among the best in the Midwest, with six or so $3 pint offerings ranging from its Wheat State Golden to Oatmeal Stout. Likewise Free State's food is choice and inexpensive. The menu is loaded with a dozen-plus town favorites (Black Bean Quesadillas, Basil Ciabatta, Garden Burger, etc), as well as two or more daily specials. The environment is sharp but casual, busy but friendly.
