Located across the river in serene North Lawrence, La Tropicana boasts one of the best patios in town, as well as tasty Mexican food to eat on that patio. Though it's pricier than its competition and (gasp!) chips and salsa are <i>not</i> free, it's still worthy of your dining rotation.
Since 1962 four generations the Del Campo family have worked together on everything from preparing food and waiting tables to washing dishes. Besides the standard fare, La Tropicana offers daily specials, fresh guacamole, and margaritas that are well-known around town. They even sell fantastic homemade tamales by the dozen during the holidays. Catering is available at 749-3550.
